Frequently asked questions
Everything sellers ask us before signing up — and most of what they ask afterwards.
How long does setup actually take?
About seven minutes in total — two to create the account, five to add your first products. There's no onboarding call to schedule and no integration to configure.
You paste your listing links, choose up to five competitors for each, and pick what time you want your report. That's the whole process.
Do I need a developer or any technical knowledge?
No. If you can copy a product link from your browser's address bar, you can set up EcomTracker. There's nothing to install, no API keys to generate and no code anywhere in the process.
Do I have to connect my Amazon or Flipkart seller account?
No — and we'll never ask you to. EcomTracker reads public listing pages, the same ones any shopper can open. We don't need your seller login, and we never see your orders, payouts or customer details.
Do I need a credit card to try it?
No. The free plan needs only an email address, and it isn't a countdown trial — it stays free for 5 products indefinitely.
When will my first report arrive?
The morning after you add products. Your listings go into that night's 12 AM IST sync, so the first email gives you a baseline snapshot. From the second report onwards you start seeing movement.
What if I have 300 products to add?
Use the CSV import rather than adding them one at a time. Upload a sheet with your listing links and competitor links and the whole catalogue is set up in a single step.
I'm not sure who my competitors are. Where do I start?
Search your own product on the marketplace and pick whoever appears above you. Those are the listings taking the sale you're not getting.
You can change your selections later without losing any price history you've already collected, so there's no cost to guessing wrong at the start.
How many competitors can I track per product?
Five on every plan including Free, and ten on Enterprise. You choose which five, so the comparison reflects your actual market rather than whoever an algorithm picks.
How often are prices checked?
Every tracked listing is refreshed in the nightly sync starting at 12 AM IST, so your morning numbers are always from that night.
On Pro and Enterprise we also re-check through the day and alert you the moment a price crosses your threshold.
What exactly does the daily report contain?
Only what changed overnight, sorted with the biggest movers at the top — so the decisions that matter most are the first thing you read.
- ✓ Which products had competitor price movement, and by how much
- ✓ Where you've been undercut, and by what amount
- ✓ Competitors who went out of stock
- ✓ A link into the dashboard for the full history behind any line
If nothing moved, you don't get an email. Quiet days stay quiet.
Can I change what time the report arrives?
Yes — pick any time that suits you. The default is 9 AM IST because most sellers want it before the day starts, but you can set it to whenever you actually sit down to look at pricing.
Does EcomTracker change my prices automatically?
No. We're a tracking and reporting tool, not a repricer. We tell you what the market did; the decision to reprice, and the number you choose, stay entirely with you.
How far back does price history go?
From the day you add a product. Every check is kept for as long as the product stays on your account, so history accumulates from your first night of tracking onwards.
What happens if a competitor goes out of stock?
We record it as out of stock rather than dropping the row. A rival disappearing from the market is useful information, so it shows up in your report instead of quietly vanishing from the average.
Can I set my own alert threshold?
Yes, on Pro and above. Set the percentage move worth interrupting your day — 5% is the common choice — and anything past it reaches you within the hour. Everything smaller waits for the morning report.
Can my team have their own logins?
On Pro and Enterprise, yes. Everyone works from one shared view with their own login, so nobody is forwarding screenshots of a spreadsheet only one person can read.
Can I export my data?
Any date range, as CSV, from Starter upwards. Enterprise adds Excel export and API access for feeding data into your own systems.
Which marketplaces do you support?
Amazon India and Flipkart, both natively and in a single dashboard. If you sell the same product on both, you see both markets side by side instead of keeping two spreadsheets.
Are Shopify and WooCommerce coming?
Both are in development, and they'll be included on all paid plans at no extra cost when they launch.
Are you affiliated with Amazon or Flipkart?
No. EcomTracker is an independent tool with no affiliation, endorsement or partnership with any marketplace. Your relationship with them is governed by their own terms.
Is price tracking allowed?
We read publicly displayed listing pages — the same information visible to any shopper browsing the site. We don't access private seller data or anything behind a login.
You remain responsible for complying with your marketplace's own seller terms, including any rules they set about pricing practices.
Why does a price in my report differ from what I see?
Marketplaces show different prices to different shoppers depending on location, active offers, coupons and account state — and listings change throughout the day.
Treat tracking data as an indicator of market direction rather than an authoritative quote, and check the live listing before making a significant repricing decision.
What do the plans cost?
Free covers 5 products at ₹0. Starter is ₹999/month for 25 products, Pro is ₹1,999/month for 100, and Enterprise is ₹4,999/month for 300 with real-time updates and API access.
Full breakdown on the pricing page. GST applies in addition.
Is the free plan really free?
Yes — no card, no countdown, no expiry. Five products tracked with five competitors each, for as long as you want. Plenty of sellers stay on it.
Can I change plans later?
Upgrade any time and the new limits apply immediately. Downgrade any time and the change takes effect at the end of your billing period. Nothing you've set up is lost either way.
Is there a lock-in or annual contract?
No. Plans are monthly, cancellable from your settings with no notice period and no cancellation fee. Your plan simply runs to the end of the period you've already paid for.
What happens if I go over my product limit?
We'll tell you before anything stops working. You can either upgrade or choose which products to keep tracking — we won't silently drop SKUs or bill you for an upgrade you didn't ask for.
Do you offer refunds?
Fees already paid aren't refunded for partial billing periods, but you can cancel at any time to stop future renewals. If you think you've been charged in error, write to us and we'll look into it.
Will I get a GST invoice?
Yes. Add your GSTIN in billing settings and it appears on every invoice.
Can other sellers see what I'm tracking?
Never. Your product list, competitor selections and price history are visible only to your account and the team members you invite.
We don't pool customer data into a market dataset, and we never use one customer's catalogue to inform another's account.
Do you sell my data?
No. We don't sell, resell or publish your data, and we don't share it with advertisers or data brokers. Our revenue comes from subscriptions, not from your catalogue.
Do the competitors I track know I'm watching them?
No. We read public listing pages the same way any visitor does. Nothing is sent to the sellers you're tracking, and nothing identifies you to them.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your catalogue, competitor selections and price history are deleted within a reasonable period after you close the account. Export what you want as CSV first — deletion isn't reversible.
Details in our Privacy Policy.
How is my account secured?
Traffic is encrypted in transit, passwords are stored only as hashes, and access to production data is limited by role and logged. Card details are handled by our payment processor and never stored on our servers.
How do I get help?
Email support@ecomtracker.in. Free plan gets community support, Starter gets email, Pro gets priority, and Enterprise gets a dedicated contact.
Replies come from people who work on the product, during Indian business hours.
A price in my dashboard looks wrong. What now?
Send us the product and the competitor listing. Listings do change between checks, but if a reading is genuinely wrong we want to know — it usually means a marketplace changed its page and we need to adapt.
My report didn't arrive this morning.
Most often it means nothing moved overnight, which is the intended behaviour rather than a fault. Check your spam folder next, then write to us and we'll look at the delivery log for your account.
Can someone walk me through it?
Yes — book a demo and someone from the team will take you through a live account. It isn't required to get started, but it's there if you'd rather be shown.
Can you add a feature I need?
Tell us. Most of what's in EcomTracker exists because a seller running a real catalogue asked for it, and requests are ranked by how many live catalogues they unblock.
